WUDAICHE TAICHI ACADEMY HISTORY

Wong Chee Kay began learning taichi Chuan from Wu Dai Che in 1971 and became his formal disciple in 1973. In 1973, Wong Chee Kay began teaching at the PJ Centre. In 1975, they began teaching classes at the Royal Lake Club.

On July 11, 1994, Wong Chee Kay and Ng Choon Nam officially founded the WuDaiChe Taichi Academy in Kuala Lumpur as an umbrella organisation for the existing Taichi centres. In 2003, the third centre at the Bangsar Sport Complex opened. The Puchong Centre, the Headquarters of WuDaiChe Taichi Academy, was officially opened on September 2, 2005.

Wong Chee Kay accepted his first group of disciples in 2007.

2013 saw the beginning of the annual pilgrimage of a group of students led by Wong Chee Kay visiting  Shanghai to learn the Wu Chien Chuan’s legendary ‘soft’ push hands methods under the guidance of Zhou Zhan Fang (4th generation disciple of Ma Yueh Liang) from the Chien Chuan Taichi Chuan Academy in Shanghai.

The PJ and Bangsar centres were closed in 2020 owing to the Corona Virus outbreak.
